How do you tell a friend that you are dying?

I moved away from where I used to live so that my friends wouldn't have to see me die. So they wouldn't have to see me go through chemotherapy and radiation and be thinned down to nothing. I talk to my friends everyday as if nothing is wrong. Yet now everything is wrong. I'm going back home because I have stopped responding to the treatments. The doctor has given me anywhere from 2 months- 6 months. I want to go home to that I can have my family by my side. I just can't tell them that I've come back to die. How do I explain to them that soon I'm going to die?
