Are those Asians who get the leg lengthening surgery crazy?

I saw this on the Oprah show. The surgery looks very painful! They surgeons cut part of the bone out and put bolts into the legs that are suppose to stretch the remaining bones and make the legs longer. The patient is out of commission for a few months and the surgery costs between $10, 000 - $40,000 dollars! And how does "height determines success" in Asian countries when probably 95% of the Asians there are short? It's a common thing there. There are not a lot of Yao Mings there. He's actually kind of rare. Whatever happened to being hired because you had a smart brain, and why are so many people in the world so superficial? Even Lisa Ling couldn't understand it and she's Asian. She did the report on it.
