I want my shirt back dammit?

ok, so this is going to sound really petty and stupid but i kind of dated this guy for a little while. We stopped talking out of no where, i mean we are on good terms, excellent actually as far as i know but we kinda just faded away from each other...so he has my most favorite t-shirt in the world. He knows this and last time we talked he said he would get it back to me. Should i give him a text asking for it back? Or should i just let it go? I dont want to make it seem like i am just trying to see him but i want my shirt back! lol any advice?
