I'm about to do my motorcycle test (DAS) and so long as I p want to upgrade from my 125cc to a bigger bike.?

I'm looking for a bike I can use for daily commuting and also travelling from London to Glasgow regularly but just can't decide. Budget is around �2000. Any advise would be great. I'm probably looking for more of a CBF1000 style or a custom cruiser type rather than a sports bike.
