Where to find info on sailing yachts late 19th and early 20th century paticularly owners and crews ?

I have come across several photos of family members wearing customary guernsey sweaters bearing the club initials R(oyal) M(ersey) Y(acht) C(lub) and yacht names viz. Thala, Mayflower and Dorade.
