I doubt any real science teacher woulkd be telling kids that the world will end in 2012. Of course, merely bringing it up and not dismissing it may lead kids to use their imaginations and jump on the 2012 sillytrain. I remember as kids we used to love all that end of the world stuff and would be mildly disappointed when we'd sit in cl and all expectantly wait for the clock to tick over and nothing would happen.
