Does anybody know whether the Norway shooter used an automatic rifle?

The initial news reports claimed that the shooter had carried an automatic weapon and there were reports of automatic bursts of gunfire from the reports that came out from campers but other sources say that he used a mini ruger and a glock 17, both of which are semi-automatic. I also found it pretty unlikely that a man in Norway was able to obtain an automatic weapon when getting a pistol in Norway is probably hard enough. Are mini rugers capable of being converted to full auto or was there another weapon?
